House Adopts Provision to Ensure Oil Companies Pay Fair Share

June 21, 2001

Representative Maloney succeeded in getting a provision adopted today that prevents the Interior Department from allowing oil companies to shortchange on payments for oil drilled from federal lands. Project On Government Oversight, Friends of the Earth, U.S. PIRG and Taxpayers for Common Sense were among the groups that fought for the provision.
